The folks over at Mashable.com have discovered an incredible trend on LinkedIn that “Ninja” is literally climbing the ropes as a legit job title (dethroning the more peaceful “Gurus”). Although not necessarily steeped in the arts of sabotage, espionage, infiltration, assassination, kung fu, the neo-ninjas of today usually occupy jobs in social media, design, customer service, advertising and finance. Go figure.
But lets take a deeper look, perhaps ninjas and these jobs aren’t so far apart.
Social Media: Infiltration
Design: Espionage (OK a stretch, but how about some good ol’ Banksy… droppin’ design bombs)
Customer Service: Sabotage (i.e. call your mobile phone provider and see the ninja at work)
Advertising: Again Espionage and throw in some Sabotage for good measure.
Finance: No explanation needed.
