The Hand from Above creates a stir in Liverpool
[via Hand from Above from Chris O'Shea on Vimeo]
The video above displays an interactive “Hand from Above” video set up in Liverpool. The screen grabs the attention of pedestrians as it appears to poke at and move around the unsuspecting passersby on the screen.
The objective is to “encourage us to question our normal routine when we often find ourselves rushing from one destination to another.” What’s great about the Hand is the ability to interact with witnesses with as little, or as much, involvement from them as possible. Ignoring passersby have just as much of a chance of being tickled or flicked as the next, creating a humorous show for those more engaged in the screen.
Australian Ninjas Rescue Mugging Victim
In our continued unabashed love for Ninjas and all things Ninja, we were happy to read this little gem today. I admit that I had never considered that there would be Ninjas in the big down under, but ultimately am not surprised as this is the nature of the Ninja – to be where you least expect them.
A word to the wise: You can run from the Ninja, but they will find you. Maybe when you’re sleeping, or while you’re eating spaghettios…. you just never know.
Electron Boy saves Seattle!
[via the Seattle Times and Geek Sugar]
The Make-a-Wish Foundation, that grants wishes to children with severe illnesses, made a little boy’s wish come true of turning him into a super hero for a day. 13-year-old Erik Martin’s day changed when he received a call from Spider-Man. He requested the help of Electron Boy, Erik’s pseudo-name. With the help of many Seattle and Bellevue volunteers, which including the Bellevue Police Department, Seattle Sounders soccer team and 250 Puget Sound Electric employees, Electron Boy rescued people all over the city while fighting the likes of “Dr. Dark” and “Blackout Boy.”
The day turned out to be bigger than expected, with several spectators cheering on Electron Boy. “This is the best day of my life,” he expressed.
